Last night I photographed the Gloucester International Network event organised by Business West Gloucestershire. The informative event was held in the impressive offices of SHS Drinks based in Gloucester and attended by many small businesses in Gloucestershire who export business across Europe and the World..
An opportunity to photograph one of the greatest guitar players of his generation and once part of the biggest band in the world Queen doesn't come around very often! This was my chance to photograph Brian May! The event was an unveiling of a plaque and not surprisingly I was not alone with a camera. There were hundreds of people gathered to see the legend a well as the dozen or so press guys. I pushed my way to the front shouting 'press' and 'coming through' aside from a few unpleasant sideways glances I got myself to the front.
I knew I wanted something different to the rest of the press guys and so after the official unveiling etc I followed Brian and the other celebs backstage to the function room. This was my moment as for a brief few seconds Brian was alone and had a nice neutral backdrop behind him. I quickly went over and introduced myself and told Brian what I wanted. Thankfully he was as nice as pie and happily posed up. It was all over in a blink of an eye!
If you know your horse racing then you will recognise this famous face...Sam Twiston-Davies. Sam is one of the best jump jockeys in the country as well as being the most polite and accommodating! I had a great time with Sam shooting some cool portraits for a magazine.
I recently photographed the lovely autumn wedding of Kerri & Pete at the amazing Manor by the Lake venue in Cheltenham. In the days leading up to the wedding we had horrible wet weather. Thankfully the rain passed and the day was basked in beautiful autumn sunshine! Kerri & Pete were so chilled out and happy to spend some time walking around the grounds which were full of cool picture opportunities! All the best for the future guys! :-)
I am often commissioned to photograph TV personalities and programmes being filmed on location. I recently photographed BBC Points West filming inside Gloucester Cathedral for Children in Need. Here is an image of the shows lead presenter Alex Lovell waving to the camera in front of hundreds of children from local schools.
I recently photographed Esther and Rich in the cute old Cotswold town of Burford. Esther & Rich are expecting twins in the coming weeks and really wanted some professional pictures to give a lasting memory of Esthers beautiful bump and their love for one another. We had a great couple of hours walking around the quaint old streets snapping some cool shots. Here's a small selection to give you an idea of what we got up to :-)
I recently had the opportunity to photograph Nigel Farage, leader of the UKIP party. He may divide opinion but his facial expressions certainly make for great photos!
This challenge is not for the faint hearted. I can swim reasonably well but my hat is certainly taken off to Kev Brady who decided to swim the length of Britains longest river, the River Severn in Gloucestershire for charity. This extraordinary swim will take Kev approximately 220 miles and many weeks to finish in freeing cold waters!

Jack Butland made his competitive debut tonight for England in Lithuania. The occasion reminded me of the time I photographed him while he was on loan at Cheltenham Town a couple of years ago. He had a confidence and presence about him back then and has certainly lived up to many peoples high expectations. He is now Stoke Citys number one between the sticks and will fight Joe Hart all the way for the England goalkeepers position.
I recently photographed the former Liverpool, Newcastle and England football legend Kevin Keegan. I had in mind the exact type of shot I wanted, outside in the grounds of the lovely hotel. The only problem was the light..or lack of it as it was fading fast! By the time Kevin arrived my best laid plans had to change as it was pretty much black! I ended up shooting him against this wall and powering up the flash to give a nice punchy image.
If you like chess then you will definitely know who Garry Kasparov is..if you don't know anything about chess then Mr Kasparov is a Russian chess grandmaster, former world chess champion, writer, and political activist, considered by many to be the greatest chess player of all time. From 1986 until his retirement in 2005, Kasparov was ranked No 1 for 225 out of 228 months.
Last weekend I had a brilliant time exhibiting at the National Wedding Show which was held at the Birmingham NEC. It was a full on busy event running from Friday to Sunday with loads of amazing suppliers.

I was recently commissioned to photograph Cheltenham MP Alex Chalk at his home in Cheltenham. The shoot was very informal with the aim to capture Alex away from the political arena. I have photographed Alex many times over the past couple of years, while he was campaigning to become Cheltenham MP and now in his current role. I only had about twenty minutes to get as many different shots as possible, so not the easiest of tasks when dealing with small children!
I was recently commissioned to photograph a bus driver who had won an award. I was asked for a simple upper torso portrait with the bus in the background,well done Ben :-)

I always feel honoured and privileged to photograph the men and woman who bravely fought in the First and Second World Wars. Last Friday was VJ Day which marked the end of the Second World War. I was lucky enough to photograph the service at the Gloucester War memorial by the Burma Star Association. There were only five Burma veterans at the service, which may well be the Associations last as they have so few members left.
Photographed the graduation ceremony of the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester today. The Prince of Wales has been president of the RAU since 1982 and was at the ceremony to congratulate the students. He was in good spirits and made for some nice photos.
