Black and White Reportage Wedding at Hyde House, Cotswolds

I’m a big fan of black and white images so when I shoot weddings I always make sure I have a nice mix of vibrant contrasty colours as well as the smooth timeless tones of monochrome. Some scenes and environments completely suit the black and white medium, for example when you are indoors with lots of different artificial light sources. Each light source gives off a different colour temperature which can really detract from the image and play havoc with skin tones. You may be surprised to see some outdoor shots also converted. Overcast days with moody dark clouds really work in black and white, in fact pretty much any image can look awesome with great light in monochrome!

I photographed the amazing rustic wedding between Megan and Barney at Hyde House, Stow on the Wold in the beautiful Cotswolds and made sure I shot lots of black and white as the bride loves the look. I think monochrome really focuses the eye on the light and the details within. If you have never tried it why not pick up your camera and give it a go. You may be surprised with the results, I love it,

Beth and Charles Winter Wonderland Wedding at Nuthurst Grange Hotel, Warwickshire

" We used Kevin for our winter wedding in December and have just got our photos back from him. We are absolutely blown away by all of the photos and the little moments that we missed  that he managed to capture. Kevin was a complete professional all day and nothing was too much trouble for him. We will truly cherish the pictures he took forever. Cannot recommend enough!! " Beth & Charles

I love winter weddings, there's something very magical about getting hitched when there's snow on the ground. Beth and Charles chose Nuthurst Grange Country House Hotel in Warwickshire to celebrate their big day. After arriving nice and early to have a good look around the grounds I soon discovered that I couldn't feel my fingers! The winter months provide so many great opportunities for pictures as well as a few challenges such as freezing body parts! :-)

Beth and Charles were looking for lots of candid, reportage shots showing their friends and family having fun. I'm not a photographer that takes many stilted staged pictures so that was music to my ears! I'm all about capturing the natural, fun moments at weddings!

Whenever theres snow on the ground I immediately see it in black and white. I love the tones of a wintery black and white image so this cold December wedding was perfect for this! Beth and Charles were amazing on the day, one of my favourite couples of the year! Beth has my full respect for taking off her cape in freezing temperatures so we could get some pic of her dress, she's one tough cookie! :-)
